On the 15th of February, 2012 there was an official meeting between the administration of SDU with the trade advisor MATRADE Dr. Ali Sher, Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia.

Both sides have agreed about an establishment of mutually advantageous cooperation in the future in order to promote further the existing cultural and educational cooperation between Malaysia and Kazakhstan.

The two countries will endeavor to cooperate in education and research in areas of mutual interest.

On the 11th of February, 2012, there was held a scientific-methodological workshop «Қазақ тілі мен әдебиетін оқытудың инновациялық технологиялары: бүгіні мен болашағы» for Kazakh Language and Literature teachers of Almaty region.

The issues which affect the development of the qualification of teachers and the sphere of Education during the teaching process were discussed on the seminar. The professors of the department "Kazakh Philology and Journalism" had a speech about the development of our National Language and Literature. More than 300 teachers from Almaty region and Karasay district were impressed by the organization and content of the workshop and thanked the Organizing Committee of the workshop. Our professors Danday Yskakuly and Ulan Yerkinbayev awarded Almaty Region Department of Education with Appreciation Letter. At the end of the workshop the students of SDU and the winners of "Жарқын болашақ" Olympiad made the guests glad with their talent.

25th International Kharazmi (Khwarizmi) Award was held in Tehran on the 5th of February, 2012 in the IRIB International Conference Hall with a speech by the IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Researchers and scholars from home and various world countries took part in the festival. It is held every year to introduce and honor achievements of Iranian and foreign researchers and academicians.

Our Professor Dr. Askar Dzhumadildayev was awarded by the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with the Khwarizmi International Award for his Excellence and Dedication in Research on the occasion of the Twenty Fifth session of "Khwarizmi International Award".

On the 6^th of February, 2012 there was an official meeting between the administration of SDU with the representatives of The University of Birmingham, UK:

• Nicholas Horsewood (School of Social Science Department of Economics Director of Money, Banking and Finance (Graduate) Erasmus Coordinator)
• Professor Robert J R Elliott (Head of Department and Professor of International Economics)

Both universities have agreed about an establishment of mutually advantageous cooperation in the future in order to promote further the existing cultural and educational cooperation between UK and Kazakhstan.

The two universities will endeavor to cooperate in education and research in areas of mutual interest. To the extent feasible, both universities will encourage direct contact and cooperation between faculty members, departments, research institutions and students.
