Suleyman Demirel University conducted methodological workshop “Topical Problems of Teaching Translation”, January 13, 2010.

The exchange of experience for the improvement of future translators training process was the main goal of the workshop.

Specific problems of some core disciplines teaching such as theory and practice of oral and written translation (English, Kazakh, Russian languages) and other aspects related to training translators were discussed at the seminar.

One hundred and thirty (130) participants from Kaz.UIR & WL, KBTU, Kaz. NPU named after Abai ,Business career, Parasat ,Kainar, SDU ,Alatay and Prestige colleges and other universities took part  in the seminar.

Professionals in the field of translation and in disciplines which constitute the core of translations studies: Akhmetzhanova Z. – Doctor of Philology Sciences, Professor (SDU), Davis B - PhD(SDU), Schusler R.- MS (SDU), Alexandrova S –senior instructor (SDU), Doganay Y. – MA, senior instructor (SDU), Rsaliyeva N. – Candidate of Philology Sciences, Assistant Professor (SDU), Kim  Y- instructor (SDU), Kiriyenko A. - Project Manager (Pearson-Longman). This seminar considered to be mutually beneficial both for participants and presenters, and  this practice should be continued in future.
